Semi Permanent Make Up

Semi Permanent Make up is also known as micropigmentation, which is a form of temporary cosmetic tattoo which allows you to have long lasting lip colour, eyeliner, eyebrows contour and colour. The procedure involves tint particles of pigment being placed under the dermis layer of skin. Semi permanent makeup is done with a digital machine that uses a disposable needle cartridge to introduce pigments to the skin. The machine is used to create perfect crisp hair strokes or powder brows.

What should I expect during the treatment?

Your treatment will begin with a consultation in our clinic discussing the shape and the colour of your preference to ensure a first class result! Like all of our procedures, everything is discussed and pencilled in, prior to starting, to ensure that you have total control with the style, colour and shape of your brows. You have the option of whether you want a natural or dramatic result. Once the process has been explained and you have agreed to the design, you will be required to fill in consent form and medical questionnaire. Once your new brows are complete you will be given written information on aftercare and the healing process

How long will it take for my brows to heal?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Immediately after your Microblading procedure your brows will appear significantly darker and more defined than perhaps your desired look. Over the next 7 days, scabs will begin to form. Let them flake off naturally on their own, do not pick scabs. There will be pigment within the scab and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely as this will result in patchy brows.  Usually, it takes about 7-14 days for the top layer of skin to crust and heal. Slowly the skin cells push the pigment back to the upper layers. Although your skin may look healed after this time, the skin underneath will still be continuing to heal. The complete healing process takes approximately 5-6 weeks before you will see the true results. The Perfecting Session is then performed to perfect and complete the brows.

How long does permanent makeup last?

Permanent cosmetics are permanent in that you will always have a permanent marking on your skin. However, over time, you will notice a gradual softening of colour occurring each year. Colour boosts are recommended yearly to those who wish to keep their permanent makeup looking as fresh as possible.

What should I be doing after my treatment, are there any restrictions?

Avoid getting the area wet for up to 10 days- keep your face dry during a shower

Do no wear make up for at least a week, as the pigment is still settling into the skin

Do not pick scabs or scratch the area - this could lead to permanent scarring

Apply a vitamin A+E to the area or petroleum jelly for 10 days

For 7 days avoid any sauna, steaming and exercise until the area has healed and you have your top up appointment

A patch test is required minimum of 24 hours prior to the treatment. A pigment 'Patch Test' is performed by placing a tiny amount of pigment into the skin usually in the hair line behind the ear, this is to ensure there is no allergy to the pigment.
