What should I be doing after my treatment?
Aftercare

Apply a cold compress to the area after treatment- keep the area cool
For 3 days after the treatment, keep the treated area bandaged with sterile gauze and protected with a thin layer of antibiotic or healing ointment. After 3 days, keep the treated area clean and dry during the healing process.
Avoid exercising for at least 48 hours.
Blistering is common after laser treatment and is a part of the natural healing process. Do not be alarmed by blisters, but do protect the area and apply an ointment for at least 24 hours after the blisters have popped
Do not pick any scabs that form. This step is very important to prevent scarring.
Avoid hot baths and hot showers for 48 hours.
Avoid anything that involves chlorine (e.g. swimming) for 48 hours.
Avoid make-up on the treated area for at least 48 hours.
Avoid the application of perfumed products or bleaching creams for 48 hours.
Avoid scratching the treatment area if blistering or crusting occurs, as this can cause scarring.
Itching is very common due to the dehydrating effect of the laser. Use Vitamin E ointment
Wear a sun block of SPF 25 or higher over the area for 3 months following treatment.
Avoid exposing skin to UV light (sunlight or sunbeds) or self-tan for at least 2 weeks after treatment. This is to minimise darkening of the skin (hyperpigmentation).
Avoid heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms and saunas for 7 days.
Avoid excessive scrubbing or applying pressure to the skin for 4-5 days. This is to allow the treated skin to recover and to prevent any infection.
